Organisation of the cat’s world
The organisation of the cat’s world…is the topic of the next webinar hosted on January 27, 2023 by Mrs. Dorota Szadurska.
Animal Psychology at the Polish Academy of Science, a member of the International Society of Animal Professionals and FIFe feline judge for all categories.
My favourite one-sentence summary of this presentation: “Cats have not been genetically programmed to cooperate” … I can’t argue with that. That sentence defines and explains majority of cat behaviours that are incomprehensible to us.
Very important information that each current and future animal guardian should know: cats follow a ‘regular schedule of activities’, therefore an organised and predictable lifestyle is very important to them plus the fact that the cat has retained a very strong hunting behaviour, whatever the breed. That is why our purring friends in homes/apartments should be provided with:
the opportunity to observe
a sense of control over their territory
regular hunting
the opportunity to climb and develop a ‘road map’ of our apartment which is their territory.
To sum up, we need to take care of the RESOURCES – a key word of this seminar
